As much as I love restaurants and shopping — particularly in a new, fun city — there are some pretty amazing things you just can’t find until you step outside. Amber and I (and Sadie dog) headed to Millcreek Canyon yesterday and walked around until we found a trail that looked hike-able. After about a mile of semi-aimless wandering, we landed at the Grandeur Peak hiking trail, which is about 3.4 miles to the top and an elevation climb of about 2,600 feet. We made it about halfway up some pretty steep terrain before heading back down to the car, and it was lovely, lovely from start to finish. Check it out:
Pretty amazing, right? So next time you’re cruising around a new city and checking out all the local hot spots, don’t forget to stop and smell the birch trees. Your legs might feel like noodles afterward — but that view is so worth it.
