Hello, hello! It’s been so long! I never intended the dear blog to take such a summer respite, but I think it’s safe to say things have been a little wild and crazy for us the past few months. For those who weren’t aware based on Twitter and Instagram ramblings, we’ve moved! Yep, we left behind our happy place in Durham, N.C., Beany’s first and only home for 19 wonderful months (sniff, sniff), and moved our whole kit and kaboodle northward to Boston. So Beany is in Beantown! Woo hoo! It’s exciting for sure but so much change at once. Thankfully, both the human baby and fur baby have taken to their new home swimmingly (arguably better than their mom, who is still working through the so-many-people-so-much-traffic-don’t-touch-that-must-Purel-everything anxieties that I hear aren’t uncommon for small-town-to-big-town kinds of moves).
So the past few weeks have revolved around unpacking boxes, settling in and seeing the sites. We were lucky enough to have Jared’s dad help us move and unpack, and then my family came the following week for a proper Boston visit that included many of those must-do and must-see city life adventures. We rode the T (subway); took a day trip to Kennebunkport, Maine, and hit the beach; looked around Harvard; and walked and walked and walked around downtown. We were all pretty big fans of the North End, where all of the great Italian shops and restaurants are. There’s Beany poking her head out from one of the restaurant windows. Happy girl with a tummy full of spaghetti!
Life is calming down again, and I promise things will get back to normal around here. The kitchen is unpacked, and there’s an apartment to decorate, so there’s plenty to do and share.
Hope you’re all having a great end to your summer, too! What’s the news in your neck of the woods? Any last-minute vacations? Are you back in full-swing school mode? Ready for fall and pumpkin spice lattes?!? Let’s hear it!
XO,
Katrina

Congratulations on your move! Is it super cold there? I actually live in NC and I LOVE it. I grew up in Hawaii so cold is definitely not my thing. Let’s see here – what’s on my to do list? How about what’s NOT on my to do list?! We have a baby on the way and we just found out last weekend that it’s a… BOY! Now we can really get started on the nursery and name picking. Exciting times!

Thanks! We’re excited to be here! It’s definitely not cold yet, but we’re looking forward to a snowy winter. 🙂
Congratulations to you on your baby boy! How fun! I certainly understand that never-ending to-do list, but what an amazing thing to plan and get ready for! Babies are the best!
Can’t wait to see what you do with the nursery!

We moved here a few years ago from VA and I love it here in NC! =]
Thank you!! It’s definitely exciting and it’s definitely the priority (the nursery). Sorry kitchen reno but that nursery needs to be done!
