Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season! As always, it flew by this year, but we spent tons of great time with family and friends, and now we’re ready to take on 2014 with reckless abandon. Well, maybe not reckless abandon, but we’re going to live it up — you know, as much as you can when you’re a parent and reasonably responsible adult. Huzzah!
I promise I’ll get back to foodie posts in the next few weeks, but I thought I’d start the year off with a fun photo project that a couple of my favorite blogs did last year. Basically, it’s choosing one photo of the kiddo(s) in your life every week for a year (check out Diapers and Skinny Jeans and Practising Simplicity for their 52 weeks of photos last year. They’re so, so great). Oh, and I say kiddo(s) because we’ll be adding another bean baby to our bunch in March this year. Did I forget to mention that? Woot! We’re over the moon and can’t believe he’ll be here in a matter of weeks (yep, Beany is getting a brother!). So that’s one photo a week for a while and then two come baby time. Squee!
This photo of Beany is my absolute favorite right now (my mom took it a few mornings back), so it’s a fitting one to start with. She discovered the magic of dress-up a couple of weeks ago and spent much of the holiday season donning princess dresses, necklaces and tiaras. I love that she looks so tiny in that big bed and yet so grown up at the same time. She isn’t a baby anymore, and as much as I miss those squishy, snuggly months, she’s more and more her own person and grows more and more amazing every day. If ever a kid were the cat’s pajamas, I’d say it’s her.
Are you taking on any new projects in 2014? Any big resolutions? Exciting plans? I’d love to hear all about it!
XO,
Katrina
