Our sweet, snuggly boy turned 1 this weekend. How is that even possible? Bear has brought more love and happiness to our family than any of us could have imagined. I’ve said it so many times before, but I’ve never met a sweeter baby. He’s truly the most laid-back, easygoing kid and has been from day one. Even in the hospital right after he was born, he was just so content. Hardly a cry. Just lots of snuggles. Of course, now he’s a busy 1-year-old who loves to climb furniture, chase toy cars and throw things for Ella, but he’s still just as sweet, just as snuggly and just as amazing. He gives so much love and gets so much back. Jared, Beany and I all agree he’s pretty much the greatest.
So 52 weeks. Whew! Just like with Beany’s first year, I photographed Bear once a week since we brought him home, always in his trusty white onesie on the same white background. I also decided to add his raccoon buddy to all the photos in hopes that it would give us a little sense of scale. And then I switched up a few other toys and accessories from week to week, just to keep things fun.
I’ve got to say, there’s something about seeing those 52 photos all lined up together that makes my heart so happy. Maybe it’s seeing him grow from a 7-pound newborn to a 22-pound 1-year-old, or maybe it’s seeing all of those great expressions (weeks 15 and 46 always crack me up). Or maybe it’s just remembering how lucky we are to have had 52 weeks and counting with that amazing boy.
Happy birthday, Bear. You are so, so loved.
XO,
Katrina
