Happy New Year! I hope 2016 is off to a good start for you. Because New Year’s is such a good time to set new goals and start new projects, I thought it might also be the perfect chance to revisit one from the past. I did the 52 Project back in 2014, starting a few months before Bear was even born. I took a lot of photos that year — some more reluctantly than others — and when January 2015 rolled around, I just didn’t have the energy to start it all back up again. But I sort of wish I had. Yes, I got some great pictures of our kids in 2015, but there’s something about being able to look through that folder of chronological photos from the year before that I really missed. Some of my all-time favorite shots of both kids come from that year in photographs, probably because my camera was always out, and I captured so much of their day-to-day adventures. So I’m trying it again this year. Hooray!
So here we are, with the first week of 2016 and 1/52 of the 52-part series.
Beany: A sweet, rare moment of quiet from our always moving, always talking, always energetic girl. Of course, this was purposeful quiet on her part — she was pretending she was fishing while I snapped the photo. In fact, she relocated not long after because “the camera is too loud, and it’s scaring all the fishes, Mommy.”
Bear: For all of Beany’s pretend quiet, this guy is the real deal. Quiet play, thumb in mouth, cars preferred. When I’m 100 years old and picture our boy in his toddler years, this is how he’ll look.
What goals are you setting for 2016? What projects are on the horizon? I’d love to hear about it!
XO,
Katrina
